Last week Sony Ericsson launched their latest salvo of Xperia smartphones. The Xperia Play went on sale in the UK on Friday, while the Arc a couple of days before. The Xperia Play is a PlayStation certified Android smartphone that has an integrated gaming pad and access to PlayStation Suite. As part of the launch Sony Ericsson set up a pop up gaming room at a warehouse in Central London, where the public was able to go hands on with the Xperia Play. The warehouse was transformed into a video gaming scene set in the Far East, decorated with props that are lifted out of gaming scenes such as a helicopter, sport car, rocket launcher and a crashed car. The Sony Ericsson dotted around the venue were ever so helpful when demoing the devices to guests. In the evening the warehouse was transformed into a party venue. All the props remained, but the area was now cordoned off to the public. VIP guests were then treated with (very) loud music, free drinks, take away noodles and a free gig by a certain Tinchy Stryder. [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"]

The event will be held next on April 12th, next Tuesday in London. Nokia might either be announcing their new firmware updates with new UI and browser or maybe they will announce some new phones. Earlier, we brought to you news that Nokia plans to launch 40 new phones this year including 12 smartphones. Some have indicated a Nokia phone could possibly be announced - the N8-01 with 1GHz CPU and qHD display. Let's wait and see what Nokia have in store for us. via

Apple iPod Touch 5th Gen Leaked

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 11:07 AM PDT

According to rumours, the device in the above picture is the 5th generation Apple iPod Touch. There seems to be a few hardware changes compared to the 4th Generation iPod Touch. Firstly, the volume buttons are now joined into a single volume rocker rather than the two separate ones found on the former model. The hardware home button has now been changed into a capacitive home button and we might see this new button being implemented into the upcoming Apple iPhone 5 as well. The picture that shows the settings menu of the iTouch show a storage capacity of 128 GB and 100GB of available space. While the images seem real enough for a leak, they may very well be photoshopped so we cannot be sure of anything as of now. via [gallery columns="2"]
