Also the ARC and PLAY which hit stores recently are facing supply issues. Here is the press statement from Sony Ericsson on the matter As Sony Ericsson continues to assess the impact of the situation in Japan on its business, we have communicated to our operator customers and distributors that some volume of Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY and Xperia neo phones has been affected. Xperia neo has already been introduced to the marketplace in limited quantities. However, due to supply chain disruptions resulting from the situation in Japan, we have shifted the timing of Xperianeo's broader launch and it is now planned for early Q3. We will address this topic at the time of our Q1 financial results announcement call that is scheduled for April 19, 2011. Interestingly Flipkart still has the device for Pre-order in India with a delayed release date of May 1st week. People gave thumbs up to Apple’s iPad 2, its world’s no.1 now!

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 06:21 AM PDT

The consumer reports across the world proudly announce that Apple's iPad 2 is the consumers' best tablet among the others that are present in the market. iPad 1 is also ranked as the favorite just after its 2nd version.

The entire report was made on different basis like- the touch-screen sensitivity, mobility, the display, the user-friendliness, adaptability etc. And the outcome shows that iPad 2 is way ahead of the other tablets from different manufacturers like Archos, Motorola, Dell, Samsung and ViewSonic.

The iPad 1 version performed impressively well and its position tied up with Motorola Xoom. But it was iPad2 who successfully stole the show with A-grade score in almost every section or criteria.

The iPad 2 is followed by Motorola's Xoom tablet that runs on Android 3.0. This device scored less in the portability and in being user friendly to the customers. Moreover, it is having an expensive price tag which is more than iPad2.

Is BlackBerry PlayBook delayed because of earlier shipment of Apple parts?

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 06:15 AM PDT

BlackBerry Playbook release has been shifted from end March to 19th April 2011. A number of questions are being raised for this delayed release with the primary accusation being aimed at Apple. If rumors are to be believed, then Apple has booked capacity touch panels from Foxlink and Quanta, both based in China.

Foxlink is a supplier for BlackBerry PlayBook as well as Apple iPad 2. With components being booked by Apple earlier BlackBerry is faced with short supply of components. According to further reports, Quanta has prioritized RIM's tablet for which reason they have diverted their components to RIM. Rim is a major order for Quanta for entire 2011.

iPad 2 launched just about a month ago has already reached a sale figure of 2.4 – 2.6 million units. Apple naturally does nit have intentions of slowing this growth pattern even if they have to fight them at the OEM level. Though RIM has their main assembly unit in Waterloo, they have to procure components from various sources. For critical components like touch screen the competition is actually very stiff, and manufacturers have to settle for whatever they get.

Watch ESPN iOS brings live television shows to iDevices

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 06:14 AM PDT

Watch ESPN iOS application that has just been released allows iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone to access live television programs. However for availing this service you need to subscribe to Verizon FIOS TV, Bright House Networks or Time Warner Cable. Subsriber for any of these would be able to view ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com on their internet devices.

Though this is an interesting endeavor by this sports media giant, it is not overwhelming since the application is not open to all cable subscribers. If mobile devices like iPad and iPhones are considered this service is a significant leap forward in entertainment. Very recently Time Warner Cable introduced an iPad application which allows live streaming of television shows provided you have Time Warner Cable permitted modem as an add-on. Ultimately there is a possibility of channels bypassing cable operators and offering their services to consumers directly. For this reason this application has met with severe challenges from cable companies.
