Apple iPhone 5 Production to Start in September

The production of the Apple iPhone 5 should start in September according to a note held by Avian Securities today. Additionally it was said that even if  the iPhone 5 was announced in June or July, it might not hit the market until late this year or early next year. They also hinted that the cheaper/ lower spec'd iPhone that was the topic of rumours over the past few months might very well be real. The information was gathered from coversations held with a key component supplier for Apple. Source

Samsung Galaxy S II UK Availability Confirmed : May 1st

Samsung announced that the successor to the I9000 Galaxy S - the I9100 Galaxy S II will be available to the customers in the UK for purchase starting from May 1st. There was a lot of speculation surrounding the release date of the Galaxy S II. The release date varied from April-June depending on the retailer offering the product. The rumours fired up again that the phone would be delayed after Samsung made the announcement that the processor would be upgraded to 1.2GHz. But now Samsung have stepped up and officially announced that we will see the phone at stores in the UK on May 1st. Pricing is yet to be revealed but UK retailer Clove estimates it to be 528 GBP including VAT.

Nokia E72 Firmware Updated To Version 054.005

Nokia E72 got a new  firmware update after a long gap from the 052.005 that was released last November. The new version 054.005 is now available as an Over the Air (OTA) update, but may require Nokia Software updater or OVI suite Change log SIM Lock 3.0 and B2B Certificate, phase 1 added Startup settings baseline updated (wk47, 2010) (new dates etc.) After a hard reset or on first use, Camera shortcut is replaced with Ovi Store shortcut in the Home screen Removal of Ovi Files (service is now outdated) Vlingo application removed Some user have reported better battery life and better auto-focus in the camera. Nokia Drop – Push Images and Links from PC to your Nokia phone

Nokia Drop which is an experimental app from Nokia Beta labs lets you push images and links from your PC to your phone with a single click. This app is similar to Chrome to Phone app for Android devices. This requires data connection on your phone but doesn't need Wi-Fi or 3G. This is better than Chrome to Phone app on Android, which requires Dropbox account, but Nokia drop uses your OVI account to connect between the browser extension and phone app. Features of Nokia Drop App Send links from browser to your phone with a single click. Send images to your phone in single click. Set as wallpaper option lets you send the image to your phone sets it as wallpaper. BSNL launches New Value Added Services for 2G and 3G Customers

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd) has launched three new Value Added Services (VAS) for its 2G and 3G subscribers across the country. Video SMS, Live share and Dial a video, lets users send video SMS, Share videos online and browse preferred contents by making a video call. Video SMS feature lets the users record a video on their 3G enabled handsets by making a video call to 58877. Type in the number to whom you want to send the video and send it. The receiver will get a web link via SMS through which they could download and view your video. The receiver doesn't need any video calling or 3G enabled handsets for viewing these videos. Live share lets the users record a video and share it on sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. This requires an app and works on both 2G and 3G connection. SMS LIVE to 58877 to get the link for downloading the app or visit the URL to download the app for Symbian handsets. LG Optimus 3D India launch in May ?

LG just launched the Optimus 2X and Black in India and now there is news about the Korean handset maker launching the Optimus 3D in India which features a glasses-free 3D display and a 3D stereoscopic camera. The handset was scheduled to launch in June in UK and now it seems like the India launch too will happen in the May-June period. Aircel to launch iPhone 4 in India too !

Aircel (not to be confused with Airtel ) too will also be launching the iPhone 4 in India the coming months. This is getting interesting. This is the first time anyone apart from Airtel or Vodafone is partnering with Apple for the iPhone in India. Only today morning , Airtel announced that it would be bringing the iPhone 4 to India. Here is the press statement which looks pretty similar to Airtel's statement.
