Posted: 18 Apr 2011 06:06 PM PDT

The folks from Hackintosh India have got their hands on the Nokia C2-06 which is a Dual SIM Touch and Type phone. While the exterior of the phone mentions only C0-00 like most Nokia prototypes , the bluetooth menu reveals the name of the device as the C2-06. We can confirm the Dual-SIM functionality as we can see signal indicators in the homescreen. Here are the rumored specs of the device Dual SIM Resistive Touchscreen with T9 keypad Slide out form-factor 2 MP Camera No WiFi and 3G Bluetooth menu on the C2 Bl-5C battery 3.5mm audio jack microUSB connector Homescreen on the leaked handset looks a lot like Series 40. One of the areas Nokia made a grave mistake was to ignore the Dual SIM segment which accounts for the bulk of the sales of entry level handsets in markets like India , China and Africa. Samsung plans to launch Dual core 2Ghz Smartphone in 2012

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 07:46 AM PDT

Samsung plans to develop smartphones that boast a Ghz dual core processor reports Maeil Business Newspaper in Korea. Samsung Galaxy S2 which has Dual core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor showed impressive performance in the benchmarks in Russia. This is likely to be released by Exynos brand that was launched this February. Samsung has opted for dual core processor instead of single core processor with higher clock speed because it is suited best for smartphones and allows multitasking on its two cores. This would perform data processing on par with the personal computers that has processors of similar range. They also have plans to sell these CPUs separately for other smart phone markers. Other Smartphones with dual core processors include recently launched HTC Sensation that has 1.2 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, LG Optimus 2x and Motorola Atrix 4G that has Dual core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor. Only the UK version of Galaxy S2 will get 1.2Ghz processor and others might get 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor. If phones come with 2Ghz Dual core processors then the tablets are likely to follow that. Will smartphones and tablets overtake PC's performance? What do you think? [via SamsungHub ]

HTC WP7 phone leaked with 16MP camera, is it real?

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 07:30 AM PDT

At the MWC, HTC announced a number of new Android powered phones and all of them are quite interesting devices. And few days ago, HTC announced their first ever dual-core smartphone known as the HTC Sensation. It looks like HTC is now paying their attention towards WP7 because you people may have seen the first leaked shots of HTC Mazaa, and now another video is leaked on YouTube which is actually a HTC ad. What's interesting about this ad is that HTC is showing off a new un-announced WP7 phone which features a 16 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash, you can see the image of the phone above. The phone looks like a Desire S running on WP7. The ad seems legit to me and HTC is capable to launch a phone with a powerful camera. Megapixels are not everything; the phone should come with a great lens. Just like iPhone 4, it has only 5 Megapixel camera, but the lens and image processor inside it is amazing which is the reason that images taken by iPhone 4 are always amazing. If we talk about the smartphone with the best camera, then Nokia N8 is leading. It comes with 12 ...

Nokia Deep Dive: Nokia X7 hands on pictures!

Posted: 17 Apr 2011 10:30 PM PDT

I have been invited to a nice little event here from Nokia Austria, dubbed "Nokia Deep Dive". The whole event was made to show a handful of bloggers and developers here in Austria, the newly introduced Symbian Anna and the 2 new devices that will come with it out of the box, the Nokia E6 and X7. Announced as "extreme entertainment", the Nokia X7 shows once more, that the lines between Nokia's current naming are blurred. Of course, the X7 can entertain us all! It features the fancy music player we all love, or plays 720p mkv-files without conversion. But is there a real difference between this and, say a Nokia E7? Not much. Which, as i mentioned in my Nokia E7 hits and misses post, is not a bad thing at all! The real difference between the Nokia E7, is surely the design. The X-fighter (nice naming i read on Twitter) is shouty and very futuristic looking. It's dominated by a 4" AMOLED (not CBD) multitouchscreen, that comes in Nokia's good old (well, mostly old) 640 x 360 pixel resolution. It does NOT have 4 speakers as rumored earlier, but the 2 speakers inside are very good. The whole device ...
