Micromax Bling 2 A55 Spotted At MWC 2011 !

Fan of the Micromax Bling and eagerly waiting for the next one ? We've already reported on the upcoming successor ie the Bling 2 but in the meanwhile here is another glimpse of the glitzy handset. The Micromax Bling 2 A55 will be powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo Operating system. The processor is expected to be a Qualcomm 600 MHz affair. The 3.2" screen is believed to be capacitive in nature. Swarosky crystals will be encrusted in the fascia , true to its bling name ! Look out for the phone to hit the market sometime in May.

Samsung Galaxy S2 gets Benchmarked , shows impressive Quadrant score

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has been benchmarked in Russia by Mobile-Reviews's Eldar and according to a screenshot posted by him the device shows an impressive score of 3053 in the Quadrant test. It should be noted that this is the Benchmark for the 1.2 GHz version of the device. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is Samsung's first dual-core phone and packed a 1GHz processor at launch in Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona this year. Recently Samsung confirmed that a 1.2 GHz version of the device would be launched in UK. [via Eldar]

LG Optimus 2X Gingerbread Update may come in June-July

We are really waiting for the Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus 2X as it might make the world's first dual core phone a bit faster. LG did promise an update to Android 2.3 for the device which is currently running Android 2.2 FroYo. Now LG Denmark's support pages for the device has spilled the beans about the release date for the much awaited update. While we are not sure if this news applies only for Denmark or for all markets where the device is launched. But we are glad that this seems like a sign that the update is in the works. Users are also waiting for an update for the Optimus One.

Gartner: Apple to dominate tablet market till 2015, Android will grow rapidly

Recently we told you that Gartner is predicting that by 2015, Android operating system will be conquering the mobile market and WP7 will be runner-up. Now Gartner is back again with another chart in which they are predicting about tablets. We are in the beginning of 2011 and we have already seen a lot of tablets, so that's why we are calling 2011 year of tablets. A lot of manufacturers are planning to launch tablets this year and most of them are Android powered. So where do you think Android and iOS will stand in 2015 if we talk about tablets. Let's talk about it. In 2010, iPad market share was 83.9% and now it's 68.7%. Anyone know the reason of this fall? If you are thinking its Android then you are right. In 2010, Android share was 14.2 and now it's 19.9. Other OS's are way too far from iOS and Android. If you are thinking that Android will beat iOS by 2015, then correct your facts because iOS will still lead but every year, its market share will drop gradually and probably by 2016 or 2017, Android will take it down. Twitter for BlackBerry Updated to Version 1.1

RIM has launched the official version of Twitter for blackberry 1.1, now available for download at Blackberry App world. The Beta version of the app was launched in the beta zone this February. This version brings new features like adding Geo location, notifications for mentions, chat style layout and # tag auto-complete. Features of Twitter for Blackberry 1.1 Now you can add your Geo location along with the tweets. Push notifications are available for mentions. Chat style layout for direct messages. Auto-complete the # (hash) tags that are previously mentioned. You can enable Geo location feature from the options. Other than these features the image upload and Geo icons have been resigned, languages such as Chinese, Polish, Czech, Thai have been added. Some issues in the beta versions such as Geo location errors and URL shortening problems have been rectified in this update. You can update Twitter for Blackberry version 1.1 within the app or download it on Blackberry App World for devices that run Blackberry OS 4.5 and later.
